This website belongs to Laurens Waling. Questions about your data? Send a message through the contact form and you will receive an initial response within one working day.

The contact form

When you fill in the contact form, the details you enter yourself are used only to respond to your enquiry and put together a suitable proposal. That includes your name, email address, organisation and information about your event. Your data is never sold and you are not added to a mailing list automatically.

Specifically, these are the fields in the form: name, email address, organisation, date and location of the event, number of participants, the type of session, and what your audience should see, think or do differently afterwards.

Submissions run through Formspree, which forwards the message to Laurens’s inbox. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to help you properly, and afterwards for administration. Ask and they will be deleted.

Book updates

If you leave your email address on the book page for updates about The Art of Matching, it is used only for new versions of the book and the occasional relevant update you have consented to. This sign-up also runs through Formspree, which forwards your address to Laurens’s inbox. No mailing service that tracks your opens or clicks is used.

You can unsubscribe at any time: every email explains how, and you can also let us know through the contact form. Your address is then removed from the list.

Cookies

On your first visit you are asked for consent. Until you choose, nothing is loaded. There are three kinds:

  • Necessary. One item stored in your browser that remembers your choice, with the date and version. Always on, because without it the question would return on every visit.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-HNKT8MXYK4). Shows which pages are read and how visitors use the site. IP addresses are truncated.
  • Marketing. Google Ads (conversion ID AW-18402901095). Measures whether an enquiry came from an advert. Without your consent this tag is not loaded.

You can change your choice at any time through Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. The site uses Google Consent Mode v2 and defaults to denied.

Videos

YouTube videos load only when you press play. Until then you see a still image and your browser makes no connection to YouTube. Once you play a video, Google’s terms apply. The cookie-free variant (youtube-nocookie.com) is used.

Your rights

You may request what data is held about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Send a message and it will be arranged. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If anything changes in how this site works, this page is updated and the consent version is raised. You will then be asked again.
